THE REAL REASON WHY ELIJAH-HAYLEY DIDN’T END UP TOGETHER?
At the ATX Television Festival held in 2017, several notable TV producers were gathered who talked about the influence of Trump Election on their shows. They discussed in detail as how Trump had influenced their storytelling. Julie Plec talked mentioned about her interaction with the writer who delivered her a script a day after the presidential election. The script featured a female character who was beaten up by a male character. It was that day she decided that these two characters cannot be together anymore. Plec and team killed a love story that millions of fans were rooting for. Plec didn’t explicitly state which love story it was. But it can be easily assumed to be the relationship between Elijah and Hayley who parted ways in Season 5. You can check the whole story here.
She spoke about the episode where the subconscious of the character takes over him and it exposes his sinister and dark side. We witnessed a woman getting beaten by a man. This moment felt like crossing the line and we decided to do something about it. Clearly Plec was referring to the events that happened in the episode ‘Phantomesque’ where Hayley walks into the Red Door and witnesses the savagery of Elijah Mikaelson.
CONTROVERSIAL TVD STAR
Politics is something that has created rift between the families and friends. Having different ideologies isn’t wrong, but lacking tolerance and having inability to accept others’ view is the problem. Since the creation of the Internet, people are using the platform to express their views in a loud manner. Matthew Davis is pretty vocal on the the Internet platform, but his views and opinions have landed the actor in hot water on more than one occasion. On the night of the Vice Presidential debate, the actor went toe-to-toe with his fellow TVD co-star Paul Wesley. Matthew expressed his opinion about Mike Pence getting not getting enough time to finish his point. Paul Wesley responded to him saying that it would be great if Pence answered the questions instead of deflecting. Davis responded to Paul saying his co-star likes voting for losers and criminals just like he did in 2016. Paul tried easing the tension by saying ‘Guys, Alaric drank some Vervain and this is why he’s losing it’. Later, the Alaric actor apologized for his tweets.
The actor also found himself in a controversy when he was accused of being a Xenophobic by several users online. He got into trouble with another of his co-stars. This time it was his Legacies co-star Kaylee Bryant who played Lizzie Saltzman, daughter of Alaric on Legacies. She made an appeal to be kind and not to use any language which promotes Xenophobia.
