Then different varieties of Originals such as the Enhanced Originals and the Upgraded Originals. Then we have the Augustine Vampires, a supernatural creature created using experimentation in the lab. But one of the most notorious and infamous kind of vampires are the Rippers. A name given to the sadistic vampires who enjoy the violence, mutilation of their victims. Usually, vampires hunt humans to satisfy their hunger, to feed on their blood. But a Ripper would feed and kill humans just for fun, for his entertainment because he enjoys it. Usually a Ripper vampire has turned off his humanity or it simply doesn’t care about his actions. But it’s not necessary that their humanity/emotions are turned off.

Rippers are predators who are extremely savage, they hiss and growl, bare their fangs to intimidate their victims. They don’t need any special motivation to terrorize and hunt human beings. They hunt them for entertainment and brutalize them without any bit of remorse. Perhaps the most well known Ripper is Stefan Salvatore who became infamously known as the ‘Ripper of Monterey’ because he wiped out an entire village of the immigrants. He was a ripper, but when he came across Lexi, she helped him control his violent urges.
Stefan got the trait of Ripper from his mother Lily. Her mother was also a blood addict who couldn’t control her blood lust and is responsible for the demise of over 3000 people in Europe in the 1800s. She was ultimately caught and trapped by the Gemini Coven in the prison world as a punishment for her heinous crimes.
