1. WHAT IF?
Right from the very moment Elena saw Damon, she had mixed feelings towards Damon. While everyone labelled him as the big bad guy, Elena saw a redemption in him. As the show progressed, her feelings for Damon also started changing. In Season 2, when Damon was bitten by a werewolf, Elena comforted him. They also shared a kiss which when Stefan came to know, he punched Damon. Throughout Season 3, she struggled with her feelings and couldn’t make up her mind as to which brother to choose. In Season 3 finale, she chose Stefan before she met an accident and drowned. But after transforming into a vampire, she grew closer to Damon and finally chooses him. Elena stayed with Damon until she was placed into the magical coma. It was later revealed that the showrunners had planned to bring the love triangle storyline into play, but Nina Dobrev’s departure forced them to alter the plans, and Elena’s fate was sealed with Damon.
